Softball Recap: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Christian Brothers Falcons

In what's become a running theme this season, Elk Grove gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They never let the Christian Brothers Falcons onto the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory was nothing new for Elk Grove as they're now sitting on four straight.

Elk Grove let Jenna Porto and Katelyn Maciel loose on the outfield. Porto scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Maciel scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Maciel is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Annabele Focht, who went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double.

Even though they lost, Christian Brothers hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elk Grove struck out six times.

Elk Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Christian Brothers, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elk Grove will square off against Davis Sr. at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian Brothers, they will head out on the road to challenge El Camino at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
