Football Recap: Mcdonogh Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact McDonogh can now relate to. They fell 30-22 to the Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers on Saturday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

McDonogh's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braeden Palazzo, who threw for 224 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 57 yards. Carlos Ferguson was another key pass catcher, picking up 121 receiving yards and one score.

McDonogh's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Archbishop Spalding, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

As of now, neither McDonogh nor the Cavaliers have any future games scheduled.
