Basketball Recap: Justin Beckham's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson Christian Academy over Victory Christian

Jefferson Christian Academy suffered their closest defeat since November 19, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Victory Christian Lions by a score of 67-65. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 65-59.

Jefferson Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Justin Beckham, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Colt Willmon, who earned 14 points.

Victory Christian had a senior duo take command as Caleb Wilson went 9 for 22 on his way to 26 points and five rebounds and Peyton Scott went 6 of 13 en route to 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. Shepard Sargent was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten assists.

Jefferson Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. As for Victory Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
