Basketball Game Preview: New Hampton Chickasaws vs. North Butler Bearcats

The New Hampton Chickasaws will venture away from home to take on the North Butler Bearcats at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: New Hampton has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while North Butler will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Friday, New Hampton had to suffer through a 74-30 loss at the hands of Decorah-North Winneshiek. While losing is never fun, the Chickasaws can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Vikings are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, North Butler didn't have too much trouble with St. Ansgar on Friday as they won 39-22.

North Butler's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for New Hampton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
