Volleyball Game Preview: Highland Hawks vs. Tucson High Magnet School Badgers

The Highland Hawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Highland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Higley, who was ranked third at the time (Highland was ranked fourth). The Hawks fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School lost 3-0 to Sahuaro on Wednesday.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.

Highland's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 17-8-1. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
