Softball Recap: Hialeah-Miami Lakes Wins Going Away Against Westland Hialeah

Hialeah-Miami Lakes won the last time they faced Westland Hialeah and things went their way on Monday too. The Trojans put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 16-1 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Daniela Castejon made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Cyeanna Delva was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Brianna Machado was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Hialeah-Miami Lakes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Westland Hialeah, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hialeah-Miami Lakes will venture away from home to face off against Goleman at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westland Hialeah, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hialeah Gardens at 3:30 p.m. on the 21st.
