Recap: Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans vs. Greenfield-Central Cougars
After a string of four wins, the Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. The contest between Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and Greenfield-Central wasn't particularly close, with Indianapolis Bishop Chatard falling 66-49. While losing is never fun, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Greenfield-Central is ranked ninth).
When it comes to explaining why Indianapolis Bishop Chatard lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ethan Roseman. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Roseman scored a full 46.9% of Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Chris Hill, who scored nine points.
Greenfield-Central was led to victory by Boston Willard and Braylon Mullins. Willard scored 17 points along with five assists and three steals, while Mullins scored 28 points. The match was Mullins' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Dallas Freeman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five assists.
Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Greenfield-Central, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard will finish 2023 at home by hosting Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cathedral knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Indianapolis Bishop Chatard likes a good challenge. As for Greenfield-Central, they will look to defend their home court on January 5th against Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m.
