Baseball Recap: Good Samaritan Homeschool Extends Winning Streak to Five

Good Samaritan HomeSchool came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics Storm with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Eshton Pedraza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Good Samaritan HomeSchool: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, Lane Bounds was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Cooper Binagia, who scored a run and stole a base.

Good Samaritan HomeSchool always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.

Good Samaritan HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.
