Basketball Recap: Herron Takes a Loss

Herron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 97-33 loss at the hands of the Indianapolis Crispus Attucks Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Achaeans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Tigers are ranked 56th).

Several Achaeans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaden Parker, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 14 points. Cj Stephens was another key player, putting up five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Herron was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Indianapolis Crispus Attucks' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ronisone Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden English, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 19 points.

Herron's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Herron and Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats will round out the year against one another at at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, they will square off against Varsity Opponent at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
