Baseball Game Preview: Centralia Panthers vs. Palmyra Panthers

Centralia hasn't had much luck against Palmyra recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Centralia will challenge Palmyra at 5:00 p.m. Centralia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Centralia came into their game last Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Moberly, falling 12-1.

Centralia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Kempker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Palmyra fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mexico on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Centralia's record now sits at 12-8. As for Palmyra, their record is now 9-7.

Centralia couldn't quite finish off Palmyra in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Centralia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
