Basketball Game Preview: Dublin Jerome Celtics vs. Olentangy Berlin Bears

The Dublin Jerome Celtics will challenge the Olentangy Berlin Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Dublin Jerome is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Vincent-St. Mary just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 48-34 fall against the Fighting Irish. While losing is never fun, the Celtics can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Olentangy Berlin came up short against Dublin Coffman on Tuesday and fell 55-44.

Despite the defeat, Olentangy Berlin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addi Trowbridge went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Grubbs, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Olentangy Berlin dropped their record down to 11-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Dublin Jerome, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.

Dublin Jerome was able to grind out a solid victory over Olentangy Berlin when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 48-36. Will Dublin Jerome repeat their success, or does Olentangy Berlin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
