Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Yellow Jackets vs. Station Camp Bison

For the second straight game, Springfield will face off against Station Camp. The Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to face off against the Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Springfield got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Station Camp, sneaking past 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellow Jackets.

Logan Hellweg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kason Woodson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Landon Mayo, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Station Camp is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Springfield, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
