Soccer Preview: Springfield Meets Willamette

The Springfield Millers will square off against the Willamette Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Springfield's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Crescent Valley.

Meanwhile, Willamette and La Salle finished up their match with a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

Springfield has been on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That run has powered them to a 4-3 record this season. Those victories were made possible by their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four contests. Willamette's draw makes their record 3-4-2 this season.

Springfield might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Willamette the last time they met, on September 20, 2022 four seasons ago. Can the Millers avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll have the answer soon enough.
