Basketball Game Preview: Ambassador Christian School Lions vs. Morrow Mustangs

Two dominant guards in JD Bowden and Andre Jernigan are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Ambassador Christian School Lions and the Morrow Mustangs will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Ambassador Christian School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Morrow likes a good challenge.

Ambassador Christian School is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Davidson Day, who was ranked 20th at the time (Ambassador Christian School was ranked 12th). Ambassador Christian School walked away with a 64-51 win over Davidson Day on Friday.

Meanwhile, Morrow narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Northgate 82-80.

Ambassador Christian School better keep an eye on Jernigan. He was instrumental in Morrow's win, putting up 31 points. Those 31 points gave Jernigan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jauquez Grimes, who posted 13 points.

Ambassador Christian School has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Morrow, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.
