Cross County's Cory Hollinger and Luke Kasten of Potter-Dix both reached 20 points and 20 rebounds in December wins.
Although the 2021-22 Nebraska boys basketball season is just getting under way, several of the Cornhusker State's top talents are playing at a very high level.
Cross County's Cory Hollinger hasn't produced a triple double this season, but he is the proud owner of a Double 20. After bombarding Superior with 24 points and 25 rebounds during a 59-48 triumph Dec. 21, Hollinger takes the top spot in this week's Top 10 Nebraska individual boys basketball performances.
The 6-foot-5 center/power forward added five assists and three steals to his stat line in helping the Cougars to their sixth win on the year. So far this season, Hollinger is averaging 18.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and a steal during a 7-2 start to the season.
Luke Kasten of Potter-Dix scored 28 points in a 67-51 win over Caliche (CO) in mid-December and added 21 rebounds, two assists, four steals and a blocked shot to claim the No. 2 spot. The 6-3 junior also produced 23 points, eight rebounds, two assists and 11 steals in a 62-23 win over Creek Valley Dec. 10. The latter performance was also Top 10 worthy.
Tekamah-Herman's Jason Hoover ripped the cords for 28 points and pulled down eight rebounds, dished out two assists and swiped 10 enemy balls in a 79-41 triumph over Twin River for the three spot.
Jacob Sjuts of Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family produced the fourth best stat line with 25 points, seven rebounds, five assists and 10 steals in a 67-49 win over Lutheran High Northeast Dec. 16 while Millard North's Jasen Green rounds out the Top 5 after putting up 20 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and seven blocked shots in a 67-51 win over Omaha Benson.
All six classifications (A, B, C1, C2, D1 and D2) are represented in this week's Top 10.
In order to be considered, an athlete had to produce a double-double and compete at a high level in another category. The statistics used for this week's Top 10 were pulled from MaxPreps' Nebraska statistics database Tuesday evening.
