Baseball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 18-2 to the Ionia Bulldogs. If the Quakers were looking for revenge after losing 22-7 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in April of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wylie Scott made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Ionia, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.

While Eastern had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
