Recap: Providence School Stallions vs. IMG Academy Blue Ascenders
The Providence School Stallions had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 52-40 win over IMG Academy Blue. Given Providence School's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while IMG Academy Blue is ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Providence School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Mcabee out in front who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Chris Arias, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Providence School is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for IMG Academy Blue, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Providence School and Shabach Christian Academy will face off at 8:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shabach Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Providence School likes a good challenge. IMG Academy Blue will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
