Softball Recap: Homer Mariners vs. Redington Huskies

Homer faced Redington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mariners beat the Huskies by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-6. The win continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won seven in a row.

Keagan Niebuhr made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Niebuhr was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Natalie Hinsberger was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Amakah Stineff was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
