Volleyball Recap: Oak Hill Falls to Maconaquah in First Game of Season

Oak Hill unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Maconaquah Braves on Tuesday. While the Golden Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Braves 25-19 in the first set.

Oak Hill started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-19.

Maconaquah was led to victory by Averie Maiben and Aubrey Kaiser. Maiben had 17 assists and five digs, while Kaiser had eight digs. That's the most assists Maiben has posted since back in October of 2024.

Oak Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Manchester on the 21st. As for Maconaquah, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Peru on the 21st.
