Basketball Recap: South Houston Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

South Houston's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 59-48 victory over the Brazoswood Buccaneers. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 702nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Houston has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Brazoswood, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
