League recap: Pelham Memorial runs winning streak to five

Pelham Memorial (15-6, 6-2) is red-hot, having won five straight games, the longest such streak in Section 1 Conference 2 - D. One of those wins came in the past week,.

Pelham Memorial's Mike Murray was the best pitcher in the league this week. He won one game and struck out five batters.

The Pelicans' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only two hits and one walk, both of which led the league.

Three batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Joe Bitetto, who collected two hits in three at bats for a .667 average.



The week's strikeout crown belonged to David Wright, who turned in six Ks for Pelham Memorial. With 34 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks fifth in the league.
