Basketball Game Preview: Eastmont Wildcats vs. Sunnyside Grizzlies

Eastmont hasn't had much luck against Sunnyside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eastmont Wildcats will be playing at home against the Sunnyside Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Eastmont is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Saturday. They took a blow against Davis, falling 77-48. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Pirates are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Sunnyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Eisenhower.

Eastmont's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Sunnyside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything came up roses for Eastmont against Sunnyside in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 78-43 win. Will Eastmont repeat their success, or does Sunnyside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
