Softball Recap: Trinity Trojans vs. Chisholm Trail Rangers
Trinity came tearing into Thursday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs) and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chisholm Trail Rangers an 8-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Trinity also won the last time the pair played on March 5th.
Meela Elkins made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Elkins has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Elkins was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kylie Bonicelli was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Feao Hau, who went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.
