Softball Recap: Elko Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

Elko lost to Spring Creek on Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Indians blew past the Spartans 8-2. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Adausha O'Berto, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Abrianna Lesbo was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

O'Berto wasn't the only one making solid contact: Elko kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Indians are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Elko has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Spring Creek, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Elko beat the Spartans by a score of 10-5 later that day.
