Softball Recap: Escalon Comes Up Short

Escalon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ripon Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 back in March.

Ariana Velasco made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jayci Trimble, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Escalon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Ripon, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Escalon will square off against rival Orestimba at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ripon is set to challenge their familiar foe Hilmar at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
