Basketball Recap: Southwest Prep Northwest Takes a Loss

Southwest Prep Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 67-26 defeat at the hands of the Sunnybrook Christian Lions.

Gabe Minica continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sunnybrook Christian, dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. Minica's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jay Williams was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and four steals.

Southwest Prep Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sunnybrook Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Prep Northwest will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lifegate Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th. As for Sunnybrook Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Vanguard Christian at 6:00 p.m. Sunnybrook Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
