Basketball Recap: Grant Comes Up Short

Grant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Vidalia Vikings, falling 63-43. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-32 on Thursday.

Despite the defeat, Grant saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josh Chelette posted ten points along with three steals and three blocks. Matthew Cooper was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Grant's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Vidalia, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-21.

Grant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-41 defeat against Jena on the 10th. Vidalia has also already played their next contest (against Harrisonburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
