Softball Game Preview: Whitehall Vikings vs. Belding Redskins

For the second straight game, Whitehall will face off against Belding. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Redskins at 4:15 p.m. Whitehall is looking for their season's first win.

Monday just wasn't the day for Whitehall's offense. They came up short against Belding on Monday, falling 6-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

For Belding's part, Emma Ingles was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Ingles was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amara German, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kalynn Garza, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Belding has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs this season. As for Whitehall, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
