Basketball Recap: Community School of Davidson Piles Up the Points Against Pine Lake Prep

Community School of Davidson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 64-35 victory over the Pine Lake Prep Pride. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Regan Downey was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-15 to rack up 20 points and seven rebounds. Ella Tomko was another key player, putting up three points and four steals.

Avery Garrett and Tabitha Schmedes certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Garrett posted ten points, while Schmedes scored ten points. That's the most points Schmedes has posted since back in November of 2024.

Community School of Davidson pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points over those games. As for Pine Lake Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-18.

Community School of Davidson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-45 defeat against Christ the King on the 18th. Pine Lake Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
