Baseball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Comes Up Short

After flying high against Roman Catholic last Wednesday, Archbishop Carroll came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 5-2 to the Cardinal O'Hara Lions on Tuesday. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Lions when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jack Stadnicki was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Carroll saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dan Mcnally, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Ryan Mcgaughey also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Archbishop Carroll now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cardinal O'Hara, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Archbishop Carroll is set to challenge their familiar foe La Salle College at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cardinal O'Hara will face off against rival Father Judge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
