Softball Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Mount Vernon Bulldogs, falling 17-2. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Mount Vernon, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Meridian is set to face off against their familiar foe Blaine at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mount Vernon will challenge rival Sehome at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
