Baseball Recap: Riverton Parke Comes Up Short

After soaring to 25 runs the game before, Riverton Parke was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 6-2 to the North Central Thunderbirds. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

AJ Goff was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson While was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Riverton Parke's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for North Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.

The future could be bright for both Riverton Parke and North Central: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Panthers will look to extend Covington's three-game losing streak when they meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, North Central will try to hand Loogootee their seventh-straight defeat when the two meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
