After losing to Eagle Rock the last time they met, Venice decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Gondoliers were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Eagles on Saturday. The Gondoliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Venice got a great performance from Monserrath Zapata as she pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Zapata has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Talissa Soto was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Acensio, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Venice always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eagle Rock only posted an OBP of .250.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Venice, bringing their record up to 15-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Eagle Rock, they moved to 12-6 with that defeat, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Venice wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Westlake on the 3rd. As for Eagle Rock, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Franklin on the 7th.
