Baseball Recap: Parkland Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Parkland unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the North Forsyth Vikings by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Brandon Bowman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Robert Arthur, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Forsyth beat Parkland by a score of 24-14 later that day.
