Baseball Recap: Fleming County Comes Up Short

If Fleming County was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Greenup County on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the Rowan County Vikings on Monday, falling 11-2. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Fleming County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thadd Applegate, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Fleming County's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Rowan County, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 17-10.

While Fleming County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
