Softball Recap: Liberty County Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Liberty County rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Blountstown Tigers. Considering the Bulldogs have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cha'Miya Williams made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Liberty County let Mackenzie Walker and Abella Faircloth run wild. Walker went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Faircloth went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Faircloth a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Harris, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Liberty County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Liberty County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Blountstown, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Liberty County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-2 win against Franklin County on the 1st. Blountstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
