Soccer Game Preview: St. Mary's Academy vs. Forge Christian

The St. Mary's Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Forge Christian Fury at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between St. Mary's Academy and Peak to Peak, and Peak to Peak kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats fell just short of the Pumas by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Forge Christian was not quite Prospect Ridge Academy's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Miners by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for Forge Christian in their meetings with Prospect Ridge Academy: they've now lost six in a row.

St. Mary's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Forge Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.

St. Mary's Academy beat Forge Christian 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Fury have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
