Volleyball Recap: Jasmine Cortinas and Chalene Granado Secure Win for Lopez

Lopez won the last time they faced Donna and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lobos were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Redskins. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.

Lopez never let Donna on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-23, 25-6.

Lopez was led to victory by Chalene Granado and Jasmine Cortinas. Granado had 19 digs and three aces, while Cortinas had 17 kills, 16 digs, and four aces. That's the most aces Granado has posted since back in August. Stephanie Ochoa was another key player, getting 18 digs and five kills.

They weren't the only good server: Lopez was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Donna only served five aces.

Lopez's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Donna, they dropped their record down to 13-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lopez is set to face off against their familiar foe Porter at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Donna will square off against rival Mercedes at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
