Basketball Recap: KIPP Collegiate Takes a Loss

KIPP Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 74-4 loss at the hands of the Fayette Ware Wildcats. The phoenix lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 50-14 score last time.

Ke'Miyah Buggs was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 steals for Fayette Ware. Buggs has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more points the last 16 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Caileigh Mcgowan, who posted 12 points.

KIPP Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Fayette Ware, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-8 record.

KIPP Collegiate will challenge Trezevant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fayette Ware, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-43 win against St. Benedict at Auburndale on the 15th.
