Basketball Recap: Millikan Comes Up Short

Millikan was the 77-76 winner over Lakewood when they last played one another on January 8th, but their luck changed this time around. The Millikan Rams fell 90-79 to the Lakewood Lancers on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (67), the Rams still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Millikan still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Hunt, who went 11 for 23 en route to 32 points. Salvador Lara was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Millikan's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Lakewood, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millikan will welcome Cabrillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood has already played their next game (against Woodrow Wilson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
