Basketball Recap: Mountainside Takes a Loss

Mountainside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Madison Highland Prep Heat, falling 79-37. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-19.

Madison Highland Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cade Carlstrom, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Carlstrom's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roy Chavez, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.

Mountainside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Madison Highland Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Mountainside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-38 win against San Pasqual Valley on the 10th. As for Madison Highland Prep, they are taking a road trip to square off against Rancho Solano Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
