Softball Recap: MacArthur Generals vs. West Fork Gators
After flying high against Nimitz last Tuesday, MacArthur came back down to earth. The MacArthur Generals lost 8-2 to the West Fork Gators on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 two weeks ago.
MacArthur saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lizandra Garcia, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Garcia also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
Even though they lost, MacArthur hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.
MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for West Fork, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5.
MacArthur wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Shepherd on the 27th. As for West Fork, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-3 victory against Humble on the 27th.
