Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Abraham vs. Milton

The Mt. Abraham Eagles will take on the Milton Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Abraham will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Mt. Abraham is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rice Memorial with a sharp 3-0 win. Mt. Abraham's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six contests.

Jaran Griffin and Waydon Cherington scored all three of Mt. Abraham's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

Meanwhile, Milton faced Harwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets won by a goal and slipped past the Highlanders 2-1.

Mt. Abraham's victory bumped their record up to 14-1-1. As for Milton, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Mt. Abraham skirted past Milton 1-0 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
