Softball Recap: Mountain Island Charter Gets the Win

Mountain Island Charter and Langtree Charter Academy pushed the score to 21-2 the last time they played Langtree Charter Academy, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Raptors never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Raptors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Izzy Leppert made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base.

Leppert wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Hart, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Mountain Island Charter's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mountain Island Charter is set to take on their familiar foe Pine Lake Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Langtree Charter Academy will square off against rival Christ the King at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
