Baseball Recap: Wekiva Takes a Loss

Wekiva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-3 to the Colonial Grenadiers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grenadiers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in February.

Darelle Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Nowah James, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Wekiva's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Colonial, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wekiva will take on Ocoee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Colonial, they will face off against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Grenadiers surely won't give up without a fight.
