The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are taking a road trip to face off against the Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Notre Dame has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Clay-Battelle will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Friday, Notre Dame ended up a good deal behind Pocahontas County and lost 58-44.

Notre Dame might have lost, but man, Selena Wilson was a machine: she dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Wilson also posted a 54% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in February of 2024. Baylee Long also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
Even though they lost, Notre Dame smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clay-Battelle). They claimed a resounding 60-28 win over Richwood. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Cee-Bees with their most commanding win of the season.
Notre Dame better keep an eye on Ali Hellyer. She was instrumental in Clay-Battelle's win, going 11 for 18 en route to 26 points and eight steals. With that strong performance, Hellyer is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Bre DeBolt, who posted 13 points along with six steals and five assists.
Clay-Battelle's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-11. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Notre Dame has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 38.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Clay-Battelle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
