Baseball Game Preview: Mira Mesa Marauders vs. Coronado Islanders

For the second straight game, Mira Mesa will face off against Coronado. The Marauders will face off against the Islanders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mira Mesa 4, Coronado 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Monday, Mira Mesa needed a bit of extra time to put away Coronado. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Islanders, sneaking past 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Islanders: they've now won three in a row.

Mira Mesa saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zerek Zamora, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Nathaniel Widelski was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Coronado and nudges their season record down to 15-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Mira Mesa, they pushed their record up to 10-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
