Baseball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Paloma Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lancers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The Lancers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it 12 in a row.

David Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was his first of the season.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Paloma Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Lakeside will head out to square off against Poly at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Bears have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Paloma Valley, they are taking a road trip to challenge Liberty at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
