On Tuesday Gabe Weyer tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The performance marked the fewest hits Weyer has had since back in April of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with less than two walks. On the year, he has an ERA of 7.00 over 7 innings pitched.

Weyer's effort led Lane Tech over Von Steuben and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Champions are 8-2 against the Panthers going back to May of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
