Baseball Game Preview: Carrollton Trojans vs. Chillicothe Hornets

The Carrollton Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Chillicothe Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Carrollton got the win against St. Paul Lutheran by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Trojans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Chillicothe waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Fighting Irish. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Chillicothe's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Carrollton, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Carrollton couldn't quite finish off Chillicothe when the teams last played back in April of 2017 and fell 3-1. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
